Granola, is amazing for breakfast, and lunch and great to snack on. You can put it on yogurt or fruit bowls or eat it just as is. The problem with most of the granola you can find in grocery stores is that they contain a lot of added sugar and many ingredients that you might not like or want in your food. That is why I have created this amazing, delicious, and easy air fryer granola recipe. It is way more healthy than the ones you can buy in the grocery store and you have full creative liberty. You can fully customize the granola by leaving some ingredients out or adding even more. This granola is sweetened with natural sugar and contains no unrefined oil. I made this recipe in an air fryer but if you don’t have one you can of course use your oven, it just takes a little bit longer.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups of oats
  • 1/2 cup of hazelnuts
  • 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons of coconut oil
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 ripe banana
  • 1/2 cup of dates
  • 1/4 cup chocolate chips (if you want to make it healthier you can opt for cocoa nibs instead)
  • pinch of salt

Recipe

  1. Add the hazelnuts to the air fryer and bake them for 5 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius. After 5 minutes take out the hazelnuts and let them cool off. When the hazelnuts have cooled, chop them and set aside.
  2. In a bowl add the oats, the hazelnuts, cocoa powder, and a pinch of salt. Give everything a good stir and set aside.
  3. Now for the wet ingredients mash or blend the ripe banana and add the vanilla extract along with the honey to the banana mixture. Make sure that your coconut oil is liquid and add it to the dry ingredients. After you have added the coconut oil to the dry ingredients, also add the banana mixture to the bowl and give it a good stir. Make sure that everything is mixed well and that there are no lumps of cocoa powder.
  4. After everything is mixed thoroughly, add the granola to the air fryer. Bake for 12-15 minutes and make sure that you mix the granola after 6 minutes. After 12-15 minutes add the chocolate chips and the dates and bake for another 2 minutes. Now transfer the granola to a plate or baking sheet and make sure that you let it cool completely.
  5. When the granola is completely cooled down, transfer it to an airtight container and serve on top of your yogurt bowl or have it as a little snack!
