A girl just sharing her thoughts and opinions

It sounds really weird but my hair is very important to me. Some people might understand this and some might not care at all. But for me, my hair is incredibly important. I love to style it and to take care of it. When I was younger I had extremely fine and thin hair, my hair still isn’t the most full or thick but it has changed significantly over time. I think adolescence has played a big part in my hair transformation. However, my hair type hasn’t changed much in the last 10 years I have seen a big difference in hair growth and overall health since I started to take care of my hair. In this article I will share all my favorite hair care tips and tricks.

Less Heat

If you are a Dyson Airwrap owner like me you might also know how tempting it is to use your Dyson every day. Not just Dyson owners but we all know how amazing it feels to style your hair. However, using heat every day on your hair is unfortunate even if you use excellent heat protectants it still isn’t great for your hair. I try to use heat only twice or three times a week on my hair, this is still pretty often but in my book, a bad hair day is a bad day overall. When I use heat on my hair, I always use a heat protectant sometimes even multiple. I always go in with my Colow WOW dream coat to prevent frizz and use the leave-in conditioner fromLiving Proof. Both of these products have heat protectants in them. When I give myself a blowout I also use the Colow WOW raise the root, to give my hair some volume, and I also use the Colow WOW bombshell on my mid to ends to make the curl hold. I love the Color WOW raise the root but I do notice that it can irritate my scalp a bit so I try to only spray it on my hair and try to avoid it from coming on my scalp.

In between my blowouts, I still like my hair to look like I have just come from the salon. But unfortunately, I am not blessed with hair that holds curls or blowouts very well. So my go-to for perfect hair in the morning is overnight curls. When my hair was a bit longer and didn’t have a lot of layers I would always opt for the standard overnight curling rod, the one you probably have seen everywhere on the internet. But now that I have more layers I have noticed that my ends tend to become a bit frizzy with this way of heatless curling. So I have ordered thicker rods from Kitsch and these give you more of a blowout look so they work better for my hair right now. I also sleep on a slik pillow case which will help prevent frizz and breakage. I have seen a significant change in my hair and skin since I started using my silk pillow case.

Hair oiling and brushing

Your scalp health is one of the most important things in promoting hair growth. I have a pretty dry scalp, so I try to use hair oil once or twice a week. I always use the Mielle Rosemary oil since this has rosemary oil in it and it promotes hair growth. I also use a derma roller on my head, and I try to focus on the places where I have the least hair growth. I only use the derma roller when I hair oil so once or twice a week. When I hair oil I also make sure that I don’t leave the oil in for too long, I leave it in for a maximum of four hours. I like to put the hair oil in my hair before a workout. When you hair oil make sure that you double-wash your hair otherwise the oil won’t come out and you will be left with greasy hair. I like to also put some jojoba oil in my ends. I always use a scalp massager when washing my hair, to really get all the build-up product out of my hair. Scalp massagers are very cheap and you can immediately see results.

Another thing that I do every day is brushing my hair for 5 minutes with a bamboo brush. When I do this I mainly focus on my scalp, after brushing your scalp should feel warm. The brushing helps with blood circulation and therefore promotes hair growth. The bamboo brush also helps to distribute the oils from your scalp you your ends and will leave your hair super soft and shiny.
